Malcolm Webb
Malcolm is a country boy, born and raised on the family farm at Newdegate. He graduated from Murdoch University with 2nd class Honours in 1986 and has spent all of his professional life in Albany, at Albany Veterinary Hospital.
Malcolm considers himself a local and lives with his two legged family and Mishka and Mila, the miniature schnauzers, Georgie the adopted Jack Russell and a large thoroughbred called Ralph. He enjoys kayaking, spending time at the beautiful Albany beaches in the summer as well as enjoying the many restaurants, art galleries and coffee shops Albany has to offer.
Malcolm admits that true mixed practice vets are a rare and dying breed but is fiercely proud of the fact that he is just as comfortable attending a lame horse as a coughing cat, delivering a calf to repairing a fractured leg in a dog.
Having spent over two decade serving clients at Albany Veterinary Hospital he has witnessed many changes to the various facets of practice life. He has been able to create many strong and enduring friendships in that time and is pleased that he knows most of his clients by their first names.
Malcolm started at Albany Veterinary Hospital in 1986 and after a short period as associate, purchased the practice in 1991. Since this purchase, significant renovation of the original building (1965) has occurred. Resulting in the pleasant and functional building that is the Albany Veterinary Hospital today. Malcolm plans to continue updating equipment and technology so that Albany Veterinary Hospital maintains its position as a leader in provision of regional veterinary services.
Malcolm has an interest in practice management and is proud of the team of people that work with him. His aim is to enable the team members to do extraordinary things by fostering their own innate abilities and by providing training, facilities, encouragement and mentoring. He believes our team is extremely caring and intends to provide an environment where they can express and utilize these qualities in the work place.
Malcolm is still very excited about practice in Albany. He still gets a rush from watching a newly delivered calf shake its wet and floppy ears as it snorts its first breath and still feels warm and fuzzy watching a tentative, but happy dog wag its tail as it takes its first step’s on a recently repaired broken leg.
Malcolm plans to continue serving clients in Albany and looks forward to sharing the many new veterinary technologies with his patients.
